ITS Hours Friday & Monday: Conditions at ITS in Long Beach are becoming more congested and space more limited.  ITS has stated that this Friday and Monday, ITS will only be open to receive empty containers during the first shift and will be closed during the second shift. You can find this information on ITS´ website, www.itslb.com  under Operations, then Terminal Conditions.

RBC Limits Domestic Freight to Long Beach & Oakland: As congestion in Long Beach and Oakland has worsened and space for empty returns is becoming difficult to obtain, RBC is temporarily limiting domestic loads moving to Long Beach and Oakland. RBC will stop taking new bookings to Long Beach and Oakland from Atlanta, Dallas, Omaha, St. Louis and Kansas City. Current bookings will be honored. All other origins will remain open for new bookings to the PSW. As soon as we are able, we will lift the restrictions.

Ports of America (POAH) is now open for domestic empty returns in Oakland. Please return the empty container and chassis to PAOH.

March 11, 2015

Please note that all operations have stopped at SSA today due to a  ILWU labor disruption.   As a result, empty containers cannot be returned to SSA.  Please hold to your empty containers .  We will send out an update tomorrow.

March 10, 2015

Effective immediately RBC will begin to accept new domestic bookings to Oakland.  Please note that PAOH (Ports of America) in Oakland will accept empty returns beginning on March 18th.    Please have your trucker indicate that these empty containers are destined for the vessel “Bear Mountain Bridge” so they are placed in the correct area of the yard. February 25, 2015

SSA is currently accepting domestic empty returns. PAOH, however, is still shut down for RBC domestic empty returns.  Effective immediately, RBC will temporarily halt taking new bookings to Oakland.  RBC will honor any current bookings.  “K” Line will not have any vessels calling Oakland for the next several weeks and Oakland remains severely congested.  We expect the ban on moves to Oakland to last for a few weeks.

February 20, 2015 - Afternoon Update

Compass is full: Compass is full and cannot accept additional empty containers. RBC is actively searching for a new location to return domestic empty containers. In the interim, please hold your domestic empties. We will revert back as soon as we are able to find additional space.

February 20, 2015

As announced earlier today, The Port of Oakland (PAOH) is not accepting empty returns in Oakland. Please have your truckers return empty containers to Compass until further notice.  RBC is working on finding additional locations for empty returns as space in Compass is limited.

Portland:

April 10, 2015

Unfortunately despite "K" Line's best efforts to keep Portland open for domestic moves, conditions have continued to deteriorate. Severe congestion and resultant chassis shortages plague the area. RBC must close Portland to new bookings effective immediately. We will re-open Portland as soon as we are able. If you already have a booking to Portland, we will honor it. If anyone wants to discuss moving loads via Seattle, please let me know.

30 MAR 2015

"K" Line is extremely surplus on 40-ft standards in Portland. To ensure RBC doesn't exacerbate the surplus, RBC will stop accepting domestic 40-ft standard loads to Portland. RBC will continue to accept 40-ft high cube loads to Portland. 20-ft and 45-ft moves to Portland continue to be banned. To summarize:

Domestic Loads to Portland
20-Foot NO
40-Foot Standard NO
40-Foot High Cube YES
45-Foot NO

Seattle is also becoming severely congested and space for domestic empty returns more limited. Domestic volume is likely to be restricted to Seattle shortly. I will revert back with more details on Seattle.

February 20, 2015 - Afternoon Update

RBC must restrict domestic loads moving to Seattle.  We will only accept new bookings from Chicago (G2, G3 & G4) as well as the Ohio valley (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Georgetown & Louisville). Even these locations will be limited, so you must obtain approval from RBC prior to loading a box to Seattle. Please email chigl2@us.kline.com for Chicago loads and chibctc@us.kline.com for the Ohio valley. RBC will honor current outstanding bookings.  As soon as we are able we will lift these restrictions.
